Background:
 Ten Towns Tour 3000K

Although Australia is the flattest continent on earth, there exists a geographical feature called the Great Dividing Range – the third longest land-based mountain range in the world – that stretches more than 3500km from the northern tip of Queensland running the entire length of the eastern coastline through New South Wales then westward into Victoria. The range varies in width from 150km to 300km in parts.
This range is home to many of Australia’s favourite motorcycling roads and also to the ten towns and villages with the highest elevation.

The top ten towns:
Perisher Village, NSW    - 1721m
Dinner Plain, VIC    - 1578m
Cabramurra, NSW    - 1461m
Thredbo Village, NSW    - 1447m
Guyra, NSW        - 1336m
Oberon, NSW        - 1103m
Nimmitabel, NSW    - 1082m

The Top Ten Towns Tour 3000K documentation requirements are those for the standard SaddleSore series 3000K in 48 hours. Witnesses are required at the beginning and end of the ride. Collect computer generated receipts and log date/time/location/odometer as near as practical to the Top Ten Towns and in addition any appropriate route corners to verify the route taken. The shortest possible route to join the Top Ten Towns is less than 3000km.

In order to fulfill the requirements of the ride, the Top Ten Towns Tour 3000K should START and FINISH at the same location. This location may be one of the top ten or any other suitable location. However, any route can be followed to join the Top Ten Towns.

This ride includes a variety of roads, some very narrow and winding in nature and through regions with high risk of animal strike.  Even in summer low temperatures may be encountered at higher altitudes. Some of the towns have limited hours of operation for businesses with suitable computer generated receipts. Careful planning may be required to safely complete the To Ten Towns Tour within the allotted time.

Use of satellite tracking and photographs of your motorcycle showing the location are encouraged to assist with verification of the route taken.
