Background:

Circumnavigation of North America Insanity is a motorcycle ride that forms a loop connecting designated cities located at extreme corners of North America.

The specific cities are:
  • Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, USA
  • Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada
  • Key West, Florida, USA
  • San Diego, California, USA
There is a time limit for completion of the ride.

The iconic SaddleSore 1000, is described on the Iron Butt Association website. The rules for that ride are similar, and valuable relevant information is provided there.

Documentation:  See here.

Verification Fee:  $125

DBR - Dated Business Receipt

A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION on it.  Check it - do not assume it is correct.  A receipt with an incorrect time/date/location is worthless.  Check and re-check.

Rules:

You must complete the Circumnavigation of North America Insanity ride in less than 25 days.

You may start at any of the specific cities listed above.

You may ride the loop in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.

You must proceed around the loop from one city to the next, and you must complete the loop by finishing at your starting city. You may choose any route that meets these requirements.

You may qualify for additional IBA Certifications during this ride.  Go here for information about nesting rides.

You must obtain a Dated Business Receipt  (DBR) at the start and end of your ride, and at each specified city, as well as along your route every 350 miles or less.

Your official ride duration is determined from the starting and ending DBRs.  PLEASE check these documents and make sure the time and date are correct!

Spotwalla.com is strongly recommended but not required.

If you cannot get a DBR, you must take a picture, including your motorcycle, to PROVE you were in each location.  Remember it is YOUR responsibility to prove your starting point, route, and ending point.  Spotwalla goes a long way towards this proof.

Merchandise:

There is no additional mechandise for this ride.
