Background:
Here's a way to have a "Hole" lot of fun at the same time. Don't
"fritter" around, and
donut worry if it rains... hopefully it just "sprinkles". Check
out the requirements below, but donut just glaze over them!
This
ride celebrates the riding community's love of coffee and Donut Shops,
and requires you to enjoy a donut at each stop.
Read the rules
for
the iconic SaddleSore 1000
on the Ironbutt
Association site. The rules for this ride are similar and you
will get valuable background information.
Documentation: See here.
Definitions
DBR - Dated Business Receipt
A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION
on it. Check it - do not assume it is correct. A receipt
with an incorrect time/date/location is worthless. Check and
re-check.
Fees: Regular fees apply
Rules
ALL
rides must start and end at a permitted donut shop.
You
must take a selfie at EACH permitted shop eating a donut. Each
selfie must
be at least 150 miles from the previous selfie. You will also
need to obtain a DBR from each Donut Shop.
The
donut rides have different levels of difficulty.
Donut Dash 1000 - Eat at 4 different permitted Donut Shops while riding
1000
miles in under 24 hours.
Donut
Dash GOLD - Eat at 6 different permitted Donut Shops while riding
1000 miles in under 24 hours - AND - visit a city with "ring" in the
name such as Springfield, Sebring, Ringgold etc. You MUST obtain a
dbr from your chosen city.
THE
RIDE
You
will be taking photos at each stop eating, what else - donuts - and
collect receipts with each meal
Your
ride starts when you buy your first donut (so you are on the clock when
you take your first picture).
Your
ride ends at your last stop, AFTER you eat your final donut.
Permitted
Donut Locations
Each
permitted Donut location will have the word Donut in its name.
The
shop must not be part of a chain (a chain is a group of stores with at
least seven locations).
**We
recognize that few, if any Donut shops are open 24/7. We will
permit two WILDCARDS to be used in place of the permitted locations
mentioned above. To use the wildcard, obtain a dbr and take a
selfie eating a donut from a nationally branded chain or a local/regional chain that might not
have "donut" in its name, like Tim
Hortons, Krispy Kream, Dunkin' Donuts, Coffee Time, Country Style,
Shipley, Voodoo, Daylight Donuts, etc...
Each
donut shop must be at least 150 miles apart.
You may take any route you like.
Your official time is determined by the starting
and ending receipts. PLEASE check these documents and make sure
the clock and date are correct!
Spotwalla.com
is strongly recommended but not
required.
Remember it is YOUR responsibility to prove you visited
all required stops. Spotwalla goes a
long
way towards this proof.
