Background:

East Coast 2000 is a motorcycle ride between two designated cities located at the extreme north and south ends of the east coast of the USA. The two specific cities are Madawaska, Maine, and Key West, Florida. There is a time limit for completion of the ride, and the ride may be taken in either direction.

The iconic SaddleSore 1000, is described on the Iron Butt Association website. The rules for that ride are similar, and valuable relevant information is provided there.

Documentation:  See here.

Remittance Fee:  See fee page

DBR - Dated Business Receipt

A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION on it.  Check it - do not assume it is correct.  A receipt with an incorrect time/date/location is worthless.  Check and re-check.

Rules:

You must complete the East Coast 2000 ride in less than 48 hours.

You must obtain a Dated Business Receipt (DBR) at the start and end of your ride, as well as along the route every 350 miles or less.

Your official ride duration is determined from the starting and ending DBRs.  PLEASE check these documents and make sure the time and date are correct!

You may qualify for additional IBA Certifications during this ride.  Go here for information about nesting rides.

Spotwalla.com is strongly recommended but not required.

Remember it is YOUR responsibility to prove your starting point, route, and ending point.  Spotwalla goes a long way towards this proof.

Merchandise:

There is no additional merchandise for this ride.
