Lap of Florida Lap of Florida Gold Version No. 2.0 © 2017, Iron
Butt Association, Sheridan, Wyoming The Lap of Florida is roughly 1,850 miles. You must ride your motorcycle around Florida and collect DBRs from 4 cities. Although most of the route is on interstates, there is a significant portion that is not on fast roads: specifically, the ride to and from Key West to Homestead is a two lane road and can be very slow and congested; the road to Perdido Key is a two lane road and can be slow, and the road to Marco Island, although being a major four and six lane road, has many stop lights and traffic. At the 44 hour pace, the Lap of Florida is slightly faster, at 42 mph, than a SaddleSore. The Lap of Florida Gold at 32 hours has a pace of 58 mph, which is almost at a BBG pace. Read the rules for the iconic SaddleSore 1000 on the Ironbutt Association site. The rules for this ride are similar and you will get valuable background information. Documentation: See here. Definitions DBR - Dated Business Receipt A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION on it. Check it - do not assume it is correct.
