Background / Rules

This ride has a special certificate with a custom design. It has been designed to encourage social meet ups and joint planning of rides with other riders  from other parts of the country.

Based on a standard SaddleSore1000 and BBG rides, all normal  rules apply, but with the following extra requirements:
  • This ride must be done in partnership with one other rider.
  • You must both successfully complete a SS1000 or longer ride.
  • The two riders must start more than 200 miles from each other.
  • The two riders  will meet at a place and time which is part way through both of their rides, no closer than 200 miles to the start or end of either rider's ride.
  • You must take a single selfie of the two riders
Swap Rides

The same rules above apply, but each rider must bring a special item to swap with the other rider.  In the past we have had local craft beer swaps, pie swaps, donut swaps, and home-made cake swaps.

For a swap ride certificate, you must take a single selfie of both riders with their swapping items.

Read the rules for the iconic SaddleSore 1000 on the Ironbutt Association site. The rules for this ride are similar and you will get valuable background information.
